What you need to know about St John's Wood

St John's Wood

St John’s Wood is one of the northernmost districts within the City of Westminster and bounded by Regent’s Park to the east, Edgware Road to the west, and Swiss Cottage to the north. Generally considered one of the more affluent neighbourhoods in London, St John’s Wood is mainly known for Lord’s Cricket Ground but is also often frequented for the convenient access it offers to both Primrose Hill and Regent’s Park. Outside the UK, however, the district is more famous for its association with the Beatles due to Abbey Road Studios being located within it. The area around St John’s Wood High Street is considered the neighbourhood’s main commercial centre and features a wide selection of restaurants, cafés, and high street shops, but Maida Vale to the west serves a similar role and offers residents additional retail options. The area is moderately accessible as well, with the two tube stations in vicinity being served by the London Underground’s Bakerloo and Jubilee lines.
