What you need to know about Leyton

Leyton

Leyton is an east London district located roughly 10 km north-east of Charing Cross and within the London Borough of Waltham Forest. Most of the area has been built up with residential properties that comprise a mix of late 19th-century terraces and more modern residential estates. The two main shopping areas, Baker’s Arms and its large assortment of shops and the Leyton Mills retail park, are at opposite ends of High Road Leyton. The New Spitalfields Market occupies a separate space near its southern end, along Orient Way. Leyton’s tube station, which is on the London Underground’s Central line, is also in the vicinity of the retail park and the market, but the Midland Road railway station is closer to the centre of the district.
