What you need to know about West Kensington

West Kensington

West Kensington is one of the districts within the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and located south of Hammersmith and west of Earl’s Court and West Brompton, roughly 5.5 km west of Charing Cross. Like the other districts surrounding it, West Kensington is a very densely populated residential neighbourhood and occupied by Victorian terraced houses that have been subdivided into flats. The district’s two most well-known landmarks are the Queen’s Club near its centre and the Olympia Exhibition Centre farther north, while the better part of its commercial amenities are concentrated around the Hammersmith and Fulham Broadways. The rest of West Kensington is also dotted with numerous bars, pubs, and restaurants and home to a good selection of hotels. The district is well-served by a wide range of transport options, including three London Underground stations on the District line (West Kensington, Barons Court, and Hammersmith), and the Kensington (Olympia) station, which is also served by London Overground trains.
