There’s also a civic amenity site at North Downs Road, just 14 minutes away via Shirley Church Road and another one at Brighton Road, 22 minutes away via route A23. Most types of waste are accepted on these sites for free apart from hazardous waste and DIY waste. Residents are advised to avoid tipping on Saturdays as it’s the peak day. Carrying a photo ID and proof of address is also highly encouraged as it’s required to be presented in order to be permitted to tip without charge.
