The area is also afforded convenient access to a wealth of commercial spaces, due to its proximity to Stratford and its extensive selection of retail, office, and leisure amenities and is served by numerous transport options via its railway, tube, and DLR stations.

Where are the nearest recycling centres in Olympic Park

While Newham does have its own local reuse and recycling centre (RRC) on Jenkins Lane, Tower Hamlets’ Yabsley Street civic amenity site is actually the nearest council tip to addresses in Olympic Park. The Yabsley Street facility is able to accept most types of household rubbish and recycling outside of the usual exceptions, like tyres, plasterboard, and hazardous waste and is open seven days a week (8 AM to 8 PM on weekdays, 9 to 6 on weekends), but does not accept any form of commercial rubbish. The Jenkins Lane tip, on the other hand, is able to accept trade waste, so businesses in the Olympic Park area may opt to use the site as an alternative to their rubbish removal services.

What rubbish collection services are available in Olympic Park?

Most properties in the Olympic Park area are covered by Newham Council’s waste collection services, which are made available free of charge to households in the neighbourhood and as a paid-for service for commercial properties. Garden and clinical waste collections are also offered for free in the area, but residents will need to arrange for them separately, as they are not included as part of the standard service. Bulky waste, on the other hand, will only be collected for a £20 fee per collection. These collections cover large household items, such as sofas, mattresses, and major appliances, in addition to large quantities of general mixed rubbish and can be requested as many times as needed, but wait times are often long due to the large number of requests received by the council.
